CAIR is calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the Bush administration’s use of torture. Memos were released last week that detail the legal explanations used by the administration to allow the use of water boarding and other brutal abuses of prisoners during interrogations. CAIR wants all people of conscience to write a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him to appoint a special prosecutor.
These memos detail legal arguments that allowed the Bush administration to break both American and International laws. Other information about the NSA’s warrantless wire-tapping program remains secret. President Obama will have to make these memos available in order to bring senior government officials to justice.
