CAIR believes that President Obama’s recent speech could help reverse the deterioration of the relationship between America and the Muslim world. CAIR hosted a viewing of the speech in Washington D.C. and at several chapters around the nation. In a statement released by the organization it was said that the speech covered most of the concerns felt by Americans, American Muslims and the Muslim world.
The president called for the end of the cycle of suspicion and discord that is causing a strain in relations among the United States and the Muslim world. In his speech he quoted the Quran and this in turn acknowledged Islam’s contribution to universal values. CAIR applauded the president’s commitment to helping American Muslims fulfill their religious duty to give charitably.
